  香港中文(wen)大(da)(da)學(深圳)2025年本(ben)科生(sheng)畢業(ye)典禮于5月18日在大(da)(da)學禮文(wen)堂(tang)舉(ju)行。徐揚生(sheng)校長(chang)在講話中高度評價(jia)了本(ben)屆(jie)畢業(ye)生(sheng)們(men)的(de)成(cheng)長(chang)與成(cheng)就,并結(jie)合(he)時代背景勉勵同(tong)學們(men)把握時代的(de)機(ji)遇,實現(xian)自(zi)己(ji)的(de)價(jia)值與夢想,在未(wei)來的(de)人生(sheng)旅途中腳踏(ta)實地,勇(yong)敢挑戰,堅(jian)韌前行,成(cheng)為(wei)溝通(tong)中外、塑造未(wei)來的(de)橋梁。

  以下為徐揚(yang)生校(xiao)長在港中大(深圳)2025年本科(ke)生畢業典禮(li)上(shang)的講話:

  Dear graduates, family members, colleagues, and friends, good morning! I am very pleased to welcome you all to this year’s graduation ceremony for undergraduate students.

  同學們(men)、家(jia)長(chang)(chang)朋(peng)(peng)友們(men),大(da)家(jia)上(shang)午好!今(jin)天(tian)是一(yi)(yi)個(ge)充滿喜悅與收獲的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)日子,請允(yun)許我(wo)(wo)(wo)(wo)代表大(da)學向所(suo)(suo)(suo)有(you)(you)畢(bi)(bi)業(ye)(ye)生(sheng)(sheng)表示衷心的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)祝賀!我(wo)(wo)(wo)(wo)想特(te)別感(gan)謝盧煜明教(jiao)授和高文教(jiao)授擔任(ren)本(ben)次畢(bi)(bi)業(ye)(ye)典禮的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)主講嘉(jia)賓,我(wo)(wo)(wo)(wo)相信他(ta)們(men)兩位的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)精(jing)彩演講一(yi)(yi)定(ding)(ding)為這(zhe)(zhe)一(yi)(yi)屆畢(bi)(bi)業(ye)(ye)生(sheng)(sheng)們(men)帶來(lai)了寶貴的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)啟(qi)發(fa)!在(zai)(zai)這(zhe)(zhe)里,我(wo)(wo)(wo)(wo)還想特(te)別感(gan)謝我(wo)(wo)(wo)(wo)們(men)畢(bi)(bi)業(ye)(ye)生(sheng)(sheng)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)家(jia)長(chang)(chang),感(gan)謝他(ta)們(men)在(zai)(zai)同學們(men)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)成長(chang)(chang)過(guo)程中(zhong),在(zai)(zai)這(zhe)(zhe)所(suo)(suo)(suo)大(da)學的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)成長(chang)(chang)過(guo)程中(zhong)所(suo)(suo)(suo)給予(yu)(yu)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)愛、所(suo)(suo)(suo)給予(yu)(yu)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)信任(ren)、所(suo)(suo)(suo)給予(yu)(yu)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)支持!我(wo)(wo)(wo)(wo)知道今(jin)天(tian)有(you)(you)許多家(jia)長(chang)(chang)朋(peng)(peng)友來(lai)到現場(chang),還有(you)(you)許多往屆畢(bi)(bi)業(ye)(ye)生(sheng)(sheng)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)家(jia)長(chang)(chang)回(hui)到校園。現在(zai)(zai)選(xuan)(xuan)擇(ze)這(zhe)(zhe)所(suo)(suo)(suo)大(da)學是容(rong)易的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de),但十一(yi)(yi)年前選(xuan)(xuan)擇(ze)這(zhe)(zhe)所(suo)(suo)(suo)大(da)學,面對著一(yi)(yi)片荒蕪的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)草地(di),在(zai)(zai)諸多選(xuan)(xuan)擇(ze)中(zhong),依然堅定(ding)(ding)地(di)選(xuan)(xuan)擇(ze)了我(wo)(wo)(wo)(wo)們(men)這(zhe)(zhe)所(suo)(suo)(suo)大(da)學,這(zhe)(zhe)個(ge)決定(ding)(ding)是相當不容(rong)易的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)!我(wo)(wo)(wo)(wo)想請所(suo)(suo)(suo)有(you)(you)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)家(jia)長(chang)(chang)朋(peng)(peng)友起立,請大(da)家(jia)給他(ta)們(men)鼓掌!

  Dear students, I feel as proud of you today as I did when I first welcomed you to CUHK-Shenzhen four years ago. I had great expectations for you, and you have not only met but often exceeded them in ways that inspire us all. Over the past few years, you’ve contributed to the university’s academic excellence and cultural diversity; you’ve enriched campus life with your energy and talent; you’ve established meaningful ties with others and the world at large. Together you have filled gaps with creativity, turned impossibilities into possibilities. Apart from pushing the boundary of knowledge and truth, your steps have extended well beyond the classroom: into economically underprivileged regions, labs and entrepreneurial arenas across the country, NGO platforms on the other side of the globe, as well as local communities right here at home. If we take a moment to look back to that first day you arrived at CUHK-Shenzhen and trace the path you’ve taken since, what would your trajectory look like, both geographically and psychologically? What experiences have you gained? In what ways have you grown? Collectively, your trajectories have woven a beautiful tapestry, each thread contributing to the rich fabric of this community. Each thread is unique. Whatever your personal trajectory may be, it is my hope and belief that your time at CUHK-Shenzhen has expanded your vision, connecting you to a world of broader experiences and opportunities.

  各位同學,今天(tian)早(zao)上我(wo)(wo)在(zai)整理你(ni)(ni)(ni)們(men)(men)每一位同學的(de)材料,你(ni)(ni)(ni)們(men)(men)每一位同學我(wo)(wo)都有一個檔案(file),我(wo)(wo)忍不住想告(gao)訴(su)你(ni)(ni)(ni)們(men)(men),你(ni)(ni)(ni)們(men)(men)這(zhe)一屆畢業(ye)生的(de)去向(xiang)是(shi)歷(li)屆畢業(ye)生中(zhong)最優秀的(de)一屆!你(ni)(ni)(ni)們(men)(men)進校時(shi)正值疫情時(shi)期,你(ni)(ni)(ni)們(men)(men)克服了(le)如此多的(de)困難,取(qu)得了(le)如此優秀的(de)成績,大約85%的(de)同學已經(jing)拿到了(le)世(shi)(shi)界(jie)知(zhi)名大學的(de)錄取(qu)通知(zhi)書(shu),許多同學準備(bei)去國內外知(zhi)名企業(ye)就(jiu)職(zhi)。你(ni)(ni)(ni)們(men)(men)之所(suo)以(yi)取(qu)得這(zhe)么好的(de)成績,一方(fang)面源(yuan)于(yu)你(ni)(ni)(ni)們(men)(men)自(zi)己(ji)的(de)卓(zhuo)越表現和辛苦付出;另一方(fang)面,亦來自(zi)于(yu)世(shi)(shi)界(jie)對這(zhe)所(suo)大學歷(li)屆畢業(ye)生的(de)認可。同學們(men)(men),這(zhe)是(shi)不容易的(de)!是(shi)這(zhe)所(suo)大學把你(ni)(ni)(ni)們(men)(men)推向(xiang)了(le)世(shi)(shi)界(jie),也是(shi)你(ni)(ni)(ni)們(men)(men)把這(zhe)所(suo)大學推向(xiang)了(le)世(shi)(shi)界(jie)!我(wo)(wo)們(men)(men)是(shi)不是(shi)應(ying)該為自(zi)己(ji)鼓(gu)鼓(gu)掌!

  Dear students, our world is divided by rising economic rivalry and technological competition. The tariff war is fresh in our mind and is causing worldwide aftermath in real life as well as in academia. To this our government has responded with policies aimed at safeguarding national interest, dignity, and long-term stability. We are proud that you are stepping into a world where China’s voice is stronger and clearer than ever before. At the same time, you are also stepping into a world where the ability to navigate difference, not just to compete, but to understand, respect, collaborate, and rebuild trust, will determine the future we share.

  As you venture forth to workplaces and graduate schools all over the globe, you will meet with conflicts in many forms, between individuals, between value systems, and between different visions of the future. It’s easy to be carried away by narratives of opposition. But it’s harder and more courageous to learn across divides and seek common ground. You will represent China on the global stage—in science, business, arts, ethics, social services. You will also represent China through your conduct: your etiquette, cultural awareness, and your willingness to engage in open, respectful dialogue. To connect with others through true understanding and meaningful communication, that is the profound challenge. I want you to be prepared for that challenge. We cannot foresee how far away global reconciliation may be, but I encourage you to heal the divides at personal levels by becoming bridge-builders. I encourage you to explore ways of competition without excluding collaboration.

  同學們(men)(men)(men)、家長朋友(you)們(men)(men)(men),過去(qu)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)四年,不(bu)(bu)論是(shi)(shi)(shi)中國(guo)(guo),還是(shi)(shi)(shi)世界,都經歷著飛速的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)發(fa)展與(yu)變(bian)化(hua),科技的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)快速迭代(dai),國(guo)(guo)際形勢的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)風(feng)云變(bian)幻,多元文化(hua)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)碰撞(zhuang)與(yu)融合(he),可(ke)以說,既是(shi)(shi)(shi)一個充滿了風(feng)險與(yu)挑戰的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)時(shi)(shi)代(dai),又(you)是(shi)(shi)(shi)一個充滿了機遇(yu)(yu)與(yu)變(bian)革的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)時(shi)(shi)代(dai)。面對即將走(zou)出校(xiao)園,踏上人生征程的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)你們(men)(men)(men),我想要和(he)你們(men)(men)(men)說,在奮(fen)斗的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)年紀(ji)不(bu)(bu)要選擇(ze)安逸,要把握時(shi)(shi)代(dai)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)機遇(yu)(yu),實(shi)現自己(ji)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)價(jia)值與(yu)夢想!

  同學們(men),前兩天,我(wo)請這(zhe)一屆的優秀(xiu)畢業生(sheng)在我(wo)家里(li)吃飯(fan),在飯(fan)桌上,我(wo)們(men)聊到了幾件事,在這(zhe)里(li)想與大家分(fen)享一下。

  我(wo)們聊到(dao)了“人(ren)生的意(yi)義(yi)”,我(wo)的分享(xiang)是(shi)——人(ren)生就(jiu)像(xiang)爬山(shan)(shan)(shan),爬完(wan)了這座山(shan)(shan)(shan),又接(jie)著爬另(ling)一(yi)座山(shan)(shan)(shan),因此(ci),山(shan)(shan)(shan)的頂峰(feng)(feng)沒(mei)有太大意(yi)義(yi),事實(shi)上,你最好不(bu)要(yao)去看(kan)那個頂峰(feng)(feng)在哪里,頂峰(feng)(feng)不(bu)重要(yao),重要(yao)的是(shi),腳踏實(shi)地(di)地(di)走好腳下(xia)的每(mei)一(yi)步,累了就(jiu)歇一(yi)會兒,欣賞一(yi)下(xia)沿路的風景(jing),但不(bu)要(yao)停,一(yi)直向前行(xing)。生命不(bu)是(shi)一(yi)個目的地(di),生命是(shi)一(yi)條(tiao)路,這條(tiao)路上的每(mei)一(yi)步都將為我(wo)們帶(dai)來(lai)快樂與安(an)寧。

  我(wo)們(men)聊(liao)到了(le)“成功者最(zui)(zui)重(zhong)要(yao)的(de)(de)品質”,我(wo)的(de)(de)分享是(shi)(shi)——勇(yong)(yong)敢。當下的(de)(de)世界,總是(shi)(shi)強(qiang)調(diao)(diao)“智能(neng)(neng)”,但(dan)“智能(neng)(neng)”是(shi)(shi)不(bu)是(shi)(shi)比“勇(yong)(yong)敢”更(geng)重(zhong)要(yao)呢?不(bu)一(yi)(yi)(yi)定(ding)(ding)。中(zhong)(zhong)國的(de)(de)傳統文化中(zhong)(zhong)一(yi)(yi)(yi)直強(qiang)調(diao)(diao)“大智大勇(yong)(yong)”,但(dan)現在(zai)(zai)很少提及了(le),學(xue)校里(li)從來(lai)不(bu)講“大勇(yong)(yong)”,但(dan)事實(shi)上,絕大多數(shu)領域,甚至(zhi)于(yu)做(zuo)科研,如(ru)果(guo)沒有勇(yong)(yong)氣(qi)去冒風險(take risk),你(ni)(ni)就不(bu)可(ke)能(neng)(neng)知(zhi)道挑(tiao)戰(zhan)在(zai)(zai)哪里(li),你(ni)(ni)就不(bu)可(ke)能(neng)(neng)做(zuo)出(chu)真正出(chu)類(lei)拔萃的(de)(de)成績(ji)。我(wo)在(zai)(zai)飯桌上和同(tong)學(xue)們(men)講,如(ru)果(guo)你(ni)(ni)們(men)能(neng)(neng)聽懂我(wo)的(de)(de)話(hua),接(jie)下來(lai)的(de)(de)五年,試(shi)著每年去做(zuo)一(yi)(yi)(yi)件非常大膽的(de)(de)事(crazy things),你(ni)(ni)對自(zi)己說,這(zhe)一(yi)(yi)(yi)生中(zhong)(zhong)就做(zuo)這(zhe)五件瘋狂的(de)(de)事,挑(tiao)戰(zhan)一(yi)(yi)(yi)下自(zi)己,你(ni)(ni)一(yi)(yi)(yi)定(ding)(ding)會有不(bu)一(yi)(yi)(yi)樣的(de)(de)體(ti)驗。同(tong)學(xue)們(men),人(ren)的(de)(de)膽子(zi)是(shi)(shi)一(yi)(yi)(yi)點一(yi)(yi)(yi)點訓練出(chu)來(lai)的(de)(de),最(zui)(zui)勇(yong)(yong)敢的(de)(de)人(ren),曾經也是(shi)(shi)一(yi)(yi)(yi)個膽小(xiao)鬼。

  我(wo)(wo)們(men)聊到(dao)了(le)“中(zhong)國學生最應該提高(gao)的是(shi)哪方面”,我(wo)(wo)的分享(xiang)是(shi)——韌性(resilience)。我(wo)(wo)們(men)的同學,無論從智力(li),還(huan)是(shi)勤奮的程度(du)來(lai)講,都很(hen)優秀,但(dan)有時在壓力(li)之下(xia),在挑戰面前,心理承(cheng)受能力(li)不強,受不了(le)挫折,一(yi)壓就軟,一(yi)壓就垮,堅(jian)持不到(dao)最后,因此,我(wo)(wo)建議同學們(men)要“皮實(shi)”一(yi)點(dian)(dian),臉皮要厚一(yi)點(dian)(dian),內心要強大一(yi)點(dian)(dian)。同學們(men),世(shi)界上(shang)聰明(ming)的人很(hen)多,你(ni)能想到(dao)的,別(bie)人也能想到(dao),最終你(ni)能在聰明(ming)人中(zhong)獲勝,是(shi)因為你(ni)比別(bie)人更加堅(jian)毅。

  我們聊到了“一誠勝百技(ji)”,這(zhe)是(shi)我近期在公眾號(hao)上發(fa)布的(de)(de)(de)(de)一篇散文。現在,人(ren)們普遍(bian)關注的(de)(de)(de)(de)都是(shi)“技(ji)”,是(shi)“how to do”,你(ni)(ni)去看,老師教的(de)(de)(de)(de),網(wang)上學(xue)的(de)(de)(de)(de),書上講的(de)(de)(de)(de),全是(shi)“how”。我的(de)(de)(de)(de)分享是(shi)——“how”沒(mei)有(you)“what”那么(me)重(zhong)(zhong)要(yao)!在學(xue)習中,“學(xue)什(shen)么(me)”比“怎(zen)么(me)學(xue)”重(zhong)(zhong)要(yao);在交(jiao)友中,“與誰交(jiao)朋友“比”怎(zen)么(me)交(jiao)朋友”重(zhong)(zhong)要(yao);在工作(zuo)中,“做什(shen)么(me)”比“怎(zen)么(me)做”重(zhong)(zhong)要(yao)。我希望你(ni)(ni)們永遠(yuan)記住——“做正確的(de)(de)(de)(de)事”比“正確地做事”重(zhong)(zhong)要(yao)得多(duo)!只有(you)這(zhe)樣(yang),你(ni)(ni)才能(neng)(neng)分清主次,你(ni)(ni)才能(neng)(neng)勝過“人(ren)工智能(neng)(neng)”。你(ni)(ni)無(wu)須學(xue)太多(duo)的(de)(de)(de)(de)“技(ji)能(neng)(neng)”,不要(yao)把人(ren)生的(de)(de)(de)(de)攤子鋪得太長、太寬、太大,你(ni)(ni)的(de)(de)(de)(de)目(mu)標不是(shi)去做最好的(de)(de)(de)(de),你(ni)(ni)的(de)(de)(de)(de)目(mu)標是(shi)去做唯一的(de)(de)(de)(de)。

  Dear graduates, although you will soon leave this campus, I hope CUHK-Shenzhen will remain a source of strength and inspiration, and a community of support as you navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Wherever your path leads, remember that this university will always be your anchor. For now, I want to give you my best wishes for your journey ahead. We look forward to seeing the difference you will make in the future.
